Job Opportunities @ RISC


 Volunteer Opportunities Available:


World Shop: We are always need volunteers to work in our Fair Trade World Shop. Do you have a few hours midweek (anytime between 9.30 - 5.30 Mon to Fri) or are you available on Saturdays (between 10 - 6)? We could use your help. You don't have to have retail experience, as training is given, however you do need to be numerate, literate and confident in working with the public. If you are experienced, even better.


Global Cafe-Bar: Supporting the bar staff, clearing tables, using glass-washer machine. Serving customers using espresso coffee machine. As with the shop; you don't have to have experience, as training is given, however you do need to be numerate, literate and confident in working with the public. If you are experienced, even better.

Office /Reception: We are looking for volunteers to staff the office during week-days. Duties involve: answering the telephone, photo-copying, some data-entry, mail-outs, booking-binding etc. Generally supporting RISC's team of co-ordinators in their day to day work. You would need to be numerate & literate. Preferably 4 hours a week. See office opening times above.


Garden Volunteers: Helping with open days and general garden duties. We are also looking for someone who could help us create a solar powered grey water system. We have the instructions and the equipment, which should be straight-forward to follow. For more info about that email: dave@risc.org.uk


DIY/maintenance volunteers: The RISC buildings are very old and well used, we need handy volunteers who can put up shelves, re-decorate and generally fix things!


If you are interested in any of the volunteer opportunities above why don't you come along to one of our Monthly Volunteer Inductions? You will meet other new volunteers, see a presentation about RISC and be given an application form. It lasts about one hour.
